I have a spelling checker,
It came with my PC.
It plainly marks four my revue
Mistakes I cannot sea.
I’ve run this poem threw it,
I’m sure your please too no,
Its letter perfect in it’s weigh,
My checker tolled me sew.
There are errors you need a human to catch—especially a trained human with an eye for detail. I pick up where computer programs leave off.
Use spell check, but rely on me!
Even one typo can give your potential clients a bad impression. Before they have a chance to find out how brilliant and talented you are, and how fabulous and useful your products or services are, they’re already thinking, “hmmm…. this guy didn’t take the trouble to find out the difference between ‘there’ and ‘their.’ Is he careful enough to be my accountant… bookkeeper… plumber… contractor… tailor?”
Week or weak?
Its or it’s?
Peak or peek or pique?
Their or there or they’re?
Who or whom?
If these questions have you tearing your hair out, call me before you’re bald. The wrong one tends to make a bad impression and cause people to take your message less seriously. It shouldn’t be that way, but it is. Be judged by your message, not your typos!
